GistMall is reporting that immediate past governor of Jigawa State Sule Lamido has been arrested by police in Kano state.
Lamido was arrested at his Sharada Kano home on Sunday, April 30 morning and taken away to the Zone One Command of the Nigeria Police in Kano where he is still being held as at the time of filing this report at 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
Lamido was said to have been arrested for allegedly telling his supporters to the local government elections slated for July 1.
GistMall reports that there are about six vehicles of the former governor containing his aides waiting for his release.

GistMall.com also gathered that investigators were sent to search Lamido’s homes in Kano and Jigawa states but found nothing incriminating there.
One of Lamido’s close associates Dahiru Kera confirmed to GistMall about the search of the former governor’s Jigawa home by police.
He however expressed fear that the police may have planted incriminating evidence against the politician at his Jigawa house.
No incriminating evidence was eventually found. Kera said Lamido was not arrested but reported himself to the police on Sunday.
